Puppet Storytelling Group

Storytelling.JPG Come along to our puppet storytelling group at Horfield Library, Filton Avenue. Introduce your children to stories from around the world and make up your own!

These are free events open to parents and guardians with children under 5 years. Every Monday between 2 and 3pm, starting 5th November. This project is part of the Streets Ahead programme in Upper Horfield.

Go North

Go North is led by young people in North Bristol  -  A three-year project funded by Big Lottery Fund for four youth theatres:

LDubbers

Local children aged 8-12 years

Mondays, 5.00 – 6.30pm at City of Bristol College, Lawrence Weston

Ace Youth Theatre

Local young people aged 12 – 19 yrs.

Mondays 6.30 – 8.30pm at City of Bristol College, Lawrence Weston

Advanced Youth Theatre – Starting January 2010

For local young people aged 16-25 years

Mondays, 7.00-9.00pm at City of Bristol College, Lawrence Weston

Avonmouth Youth Theatre – Starting November 2009

For year 6 children living in Avonmouth

Wednesdays, 5.00-6.30pm at Avonmouth Community Centre

As with all acta projects, these youth theatre groups are free to join. Young people should call the acta office to book a place.

Magic Day

section: neighbourhood arts | October 2007

Magic Day is our creative play project for young children in Kingsweston, North Bristol, and 2009 is the second year of the three year project. The second large-scale annual event took place on 16 – 17 April 09, involving over 500 local people, and there are a series of mini events planned for later in the year; (see What’s On page for further details).

If you’d like to get involved in Magic Day, there are a series of Saturday morning workshops on the first Saturday of the month at Lawrence Weston Community Farm, 10.00 – 12.00.  All welcome!

UPDATE: Farm session on Sat 7th November has been cancelled, next one will be on Sat 5th December

The annual Magic Day event in 2010 will once again take place in April, and involve local acta youth theatre groups who will perform shows for the young families attending the day.
