The No-ones returns following its hugely successful tour in May 2007. Venues have been revised for September performances in Bristol, following the recently announced closure of Bristol Old Vic. The show will also tour to Rotterdam in March 2008. See the ‘What’s On’ page for further details.
A new direction for acta’s community theatre!

Over the past two years acta has developed a new strand of work, which develops high-quality original plays for touring to the specific audiences in disadvantaged neighbourhoods around Bristol. The first of these projects – For Love Nor Money - enjoyed unprecedented success, drawing enthusiastic audiences all around Bristol, receiving international acclaim, and drawing a new audience into the Bristol Old Vic. The second play, The No-ones, which tours from May 2007, seems set to repeat this success. This project is aimed at the following areas:
- High-skills development for a smaller number of participants
- Creating new and relevant theatre for a specific audience
- Developing a huge, untapped audience for theatre in excluded and diverse communities.
- Advance – touring The No-ones in year one; devising and touring a new show in year two
- Development of two further community-based adult groups creating new plays – year two
- Hosting an International festival of community theatre in year three – September 2009
