A new theatre has started for young people with learning difficulties between the ages of 16-25. The theatre is still looking for new members; those interested in drama or performing can come along and try out a workshop. The theatre started on Wednesday 1 February and has been taking place weekly at the acta centre. Please contact acta if you would like to find out more about the workshops.
A cast of 12 members from the Malcolm X Elders have devised a new play based on their book Many Rivers to Cross. “Time of Our Lives” which has already performed at the Malcolm X Centre and toured Bristol schools. As part of our 21st birstday celebrations on Friday 29th September we are asking people to tell us about their acta experience. We’d love to know if you performed with acta or helped behind the scenes; took part in an arts project, festival; were involved in film making or simply turned up as audience to watch the show. We are trying to contact as many people as possible to invite them along to our party.
