Advance is acta’s touring community theatre project, which has created three original shows for Bristol audiences:-

The No-Ones – 2007/8
Escape To This – 2009
The project creates original and relevant touring community theatre, and aims to develop new audiences for theatre in Bristol neighbourhoods and beyond.
Over the next three years acta will be developing plans for a major international event.The Festival will also invite key companies and practitioners from Europe to join this celebration of community theatre, and to further the debate on key issues.
The Bristol International Festival of Community Theatre will invite community theatre performers and practitioners from around the world to perform and discuss their work. The Festival will seek to reflect the multi-cultural nature of Bristol, which includes significant communities from Poland, Asia, Somalia, Caribbean and Africa. It will therefore invite community theatre companies from countries that represent the wider Bristol community.
