There are two youth theatres for young people in Bedminster - Vibe Youth Theatre for young people in South Bristol aged 12-19 years, and a new theatre group for year 4-6 children in Bedminster starting after Oct half term.

Vibe Youth Theatre

For young people living in South Bristol, aged 12 – 19 yrs.

Tuesdays, 5.00 – 7.00pm at acta centre, Bedminster

New Bedminster Youth Theatre

For local year 4-6 children

Tuesdays, 3.30-5.00pm at acta centre, Bedminster

Go North

Go North is led by young people in North Bristol  -  A three-year project funded by Big Lottery Fund for four youth theatres:

Local children aged 8-12 years

Mondays, 5.00 – 6.30pm at City of Bristol College, Lawrence Weston

Ace Youth Theatre

Local young people aged 12 – 19 yrs.

Mondays 6.30 – 8.30pm at City of Bristol College, Lawrence Weston

Advanced Youth Theatre – Starting January 2010

For local young people aged 16-25 years

Avonmouth Youth Theatre – Starting November 2009

For year 6 children living in Avonmouth

Wednesdays, 5.00-6.30pm at Avonmouth Community Centre

As with all acta projects, these youth theatre groups are free to join. Young people should call the acta office to book a place.

Young Carers

The Village of Not So Far Away.jpg Who Cares?, acta’s youth theatre for young people with caring responsibilities, gives young carers the opportunity to devise and perform original theatre, explore visual arts and music; to have social interaction with other young people in similar situations and a shared creative outlet.

Transport is provided for both groups

Youth Arts Awards

acta is committed to offering young people the opportunity to gain a youth arts award through their participation in an acta project. Our new part-time Project Support Worker will support this area of our work as part of the Go North project in North Bristol.

This project also offers apprenticeships and peer mentioring opportunities. Contact acta for more details.
